In 2025, the global banking industry will continue to evolve in response to customer demands and a tight labor market. We surveyed over 1,200 bank employees from across the globe.
Our respondents had three clear messages:
1. Managers are overwhelmed by the time spent on scheduling and administrative tasks, now averaging 11.6 hours weekly. This is a huge waste of labor expense. The time wasted is actually increasing from previous years indicates a pressing need for improved visibility and streamlined processes to enhance branch effectiveness.
2. Employees express a strong desire for more meaningful customer interactions; however, 41% report spending less than half their time on these activities. This limited engagement is a concern, as it directly impacts customer satisfaction and loyalty, highlighting the need for more efficient operational processes.
3. A significant gap exists in mobile tool availability, with only 11% of employees able to request shift swaps via mobile and 78% dissatisfied with current scheduling processes. Employees are increasingly frustrated by fragmented systems, which detract from their ability to manage schedules effectively and efficiently.
